This Mumuye sculpture, acquired from Hélène Leloup by a French collector, offers what Jacques Kerchache so accurately described:

“Few artists have exploited empty space as the Mumuye have. They are masters of light and shade. They are able to „think directly in form through forms and to play upon form as we might play on words.
